About the Chef

In 2021, Robert Carraccetto moved from New York to the Eastport neighborhood of Annapolis. He still remembers the first time he drove down Main Street instantly falling in love with the city’s charm. In the months that followed, he fell in love again, this time with the people and the spirit of the community.

Annapolis is powered by its mom-and-pop shops, each one adding to the heartbeat of the city. The sense of local support and pride is unlike anything Chef Rob had ever experienced and it is truly a privilege to be part of a community so dedicated to preserving something so special.

Coming from a family of small business owners, Chef Rob deeply connects with environments where grit, hard work, and authenticity are the values that define the people behind the product. With a foundation in Baking and Pastry Arts from The Culinary Institute of America and a hospitality education from Johnson & Wales University, Chef Rob has built a career across award winning French patisseries, high-end cocktail bars, fine-dining restaurants, private clubs, and luxury hotels. These experiences have shaped both his craft and perspective leading to a passion for cuisine and culture that dazzles.

After hearing time and again that Annapolis is “a small drinking town with a big sailing problem,” he could not help but embrace the humor and truth in that phrase. It sparked an idea: to blend his love of baking with the city’s spirited culture. From that, Bar & Batter was born; a collection of alcohol-infused desserts with refined flavors and a playful twist, designed to reflect the character and charm of one of the greatest little cities you could ever stumble upon.
